Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?
We are located in the Guanacaste Province of Costa Rica, on top of a mountain overlooking the pacific ocean. We are one of only 3 homes located on this mountain and the area is very remote. We're a private residence in Projecto Pavones. 3 km east of Play Garza and 20 min. from Nosara. Your first day visiting, you'll need to check in with our house manager Tito so he can guide you up the mountain. After you become familiar with the route visually, as you go in and out, you can enter the pin coordinates into the WAZE app to navigate (Google maps does not work in this region of Costa Rica). You'll receive coordinates 1 week prior to your stay.
What is your pricing?
Our current pricing is $495 per evening year. Holiday pricing from November 18 - January 1 is $895 per evening.
What time is check in and check out?
Check in is at 3:00pm, check out is 11:00am.
Is there a Rental Car place you recommend? Do I need a 4WD vehicle?
We recommend Vamos Rent-A-Car at the Liberia Airport. Please note, you MUST rent a 4WD vehicle in order to get to our Villa safely. https://vamosrentacar.com/
Is there a taxi service or food delivery service to the Villa?
No. We are in a very remote area on top of a mountain. There are no taxis or delivery services available. However,  if you send us a list of anything you'd like our House Manager (Tito) to pick up, that can be arranged ahead of your visit!
Do you have WIFI the Villa?
Yes! We do have a strong WIFI connection. You'll be provided login credentials 1 week prior to your visit.
Can you have dinner waiting for us when we arrive?
Yes. Our lovely maid Ana is an amazing cook and owned her own restaurant for many years. She would be delighted to make a Costa Rican local favorite dish "Gallo Pinto" which is a delicious pot of rice & beans, uniquely seasoned to perfection. Please make your request for this ahead of time.
What is your cancellation policy?
We offer a 100% refund if you cancel 30 days prior to your visit. We offer a 50% refund if you cancel more than 30 days prior to your visit. We do not offer any return of funds after that point, as most people visiting us plan their trip months to a year ahead.
What languages are commonly spoken in the area? What about currency?
Most establishments primarily speak Spanish and most have employees that also speak English. We recommend learning simple phrases in Spanish to get around and using the Google Translate app to fill the gaps. Most restaurants accept major credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) and Apple Pay / Tap to pay. Most accept USD as well. A simple way to think about conversion is 500 Colonés equals about $1 USD.
What are the roads like there currently? Should we drive at night?
Costa Rica has come a long way with developing the roads, however there are many pot holes, unpaved roads, animals roaming around on the roads, and no emergency lanes on many streets. This is why we recommend all guests to rent a 4WD vehicle.  Please familiarize yourself with the driving route from our private gate up the mountain during the daytime your first day before venturing out at night. We recommend you to arrive prior to sunset on your first day if possible. We are a 2-hour drive from LIB or a 5-hour drive from SJO.
What if I want to stay longer than 15 days?
To start, we allow bookings from 3-15 days. If you'd like to stay longer, you can either book a second block for your reservation, or feel free to contact us for longer term stay pricing.
